Conservatory Lineage
After completing seven years of Primary Music School and earning a four-year degree in the Piano Performance program at the Volgograd College of Arts, Tatyana Henk was accepted into the prestigious five-year piano Performance program at Saint Petersburg Conservatory. The Conservatory was founded in 1862 by renowned pianist and composer Anton Rubinstein and named after N. Among conservatory notable faculty and alumni are Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev, Dmitri Shostakovich, Jascha Heifetz, Valery Gergiev and Anna Netrebko. At the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, Tatyana Henk was privileged to study Piano Performance in the studio of Professor Nathan Perelman, who was a student of two famous teachers: Leonid Nikolayev (among his students are Vladimir Sofronitzky, Maria Yudina and Dmitri Shostakovich), and Heinrich Neuhaus (among his students are two of the greatest pianists of the 20th century: Maestro Sviatoslav Richter and Emil Gilels). The Conservatory’s rigorous program included Piano Performance, Chamber Music Ensemble, Accompaniment, History of Music, Theory, Harmony, Ear Training, and Pedagogy.
